Halfway House Restaurant Delhi

Halfway House - Cafe and Lounge Restaurant is a best European and continental restaurant in Delhi which is located at Kailash colony market. It’s quite unfair to compare a new restaurant with a more established brand operating in the same genre and having done so for a while. But newly opened Halfway House in Delhi’s upscale Kailash Colony market reminds one of Big Chill, the fancy yet friendly cafe.

The truth is that Halfway House is a refreshing new addition to cafe food in the capital. What’s its food type? Well, just about every thing from any cuisine type as long as its comfort food.

Halfway House Delhi

Decor
When Buzzintown visited the place, we were pleasantly surprised to see easy ‘comfortability’ of the place. The seating was comfy yet the place had enough spunk with snazzy lights and poster art to make it a fun place with youthful air to it. Located as it is in Kailash Colony, it is very accessible from any place in South Delhi.

Food
Chef Chowdhary of Halfway House is a master at Continental food. That goes without saying. The spread at Halfway House was quite eclectic—from Salads to Starters, Main Course, Pizzas and Pastas, Sandwiches, Breakfast n Desserts apart from teas, coffees, milk shakes and smoothies.

Drinks at Halfway house restaurant

We started our journey with smoothies – when at Halfway House, do try the Kiwi Smoothie. This isn’t Kiwi pulp, not even Kiwi syrup. Instead what it has is lots of fruit, proper Kiwi. A standard fare comes in 180 ml. We had 120 ml of Kiwi Smoothie which was very filling.

Next on the agenda was Apple Cinnamon smoothie—another absolute delight with chunks of green and red apples. 120 ml of this can be quite a drink though a standard fare comes as 180 ml. Both are sinfully yummy and yogurt-based which makes them healthy too. We prepare all fast food also.

We then moved on to Chef Chowdhary’s signature dish PoPo’s Parmesan Crusted Sole (Rs 375), a fish preparation with a lavish spread of cheese. While you might have had parmesan sole elsewhere, Chef Chowdhary definitely brings in certain distinctness to his dish with the innovation in the manner he makes his parmesan crust—a mix of parmesan cheese, olive oil, butter and bagel bread crumps.

The dip is a tangy mix of lemon juice, cream butter and capers! Yum!

Our next try was Pizza—since we were reviewing the place, it made little sense, sampling just one variety. That’s when Chef Chowdhary came up with the idea of one pizza base with different toppings—from veg options of tomato garlic; spinach-corn-pineapple to non veg options of chicken salami, sausages and ham. The freshly baked thin crust pizza base makes it even more delectable.  We also try for best Chinese and Italian food.

The last item on the agenda was Kicky's Piri Piri (Rs 325)—a spicy grilled Piri Piri chicken served with buttered vegetables, mashed potatoes and garlic bread. This preparation, much like the Parmesan sole, this is a complete meal in itself.

The chicken is seasoned with garlic, olive oil, lemon and African chilli pepper piri piri while the vegetables include a healthy mix of broccoli and zucchini. For more details about every food restaurant in Delhi keep visiting buzzintown.

Overall, the place scores high in comfort food and as a friendly neighborhood cafe.
